No ja nie som ziadny specialista cez nepky ale podla jednej starej knihy "Chapters in modern botany" co som vyhrabal na strankach jednej univerzity sa pise, ze tie dva ostne maju hlavnu ulohu taku, aby odhanali (resp. trestali) votrelcov ktori vyberaju korist z laciek. Konkretne vraj v tej istej lokalite ako N. bicalcarata zije jeden doterny druh lemura ktory sa s nepkou nema moc v laske prave kvoli tomu ze mu tymi ostnami ztazuje "rabovanie" pacsi a ona sa takto brani.
