NOVINKY U WISTUBA.COM
Dear Nepenthes and Heliamphora enthusiasts,
this is our first Info-Mailing for 2012.
The last months, we entirely spent on finishing the new greenhouse. Some unforeseen glitches kept me very busy but a few days ago the first plants started moving in. I'm confident, that after some fine-tuning the new home for intermediate-highland plants will work nicely.
While we already had many pending orders, we still had quite bad night-frosts here til mid-march that kept me from shipping. However fortunately the weather got warmer now and I decided it's time to start the new season.
Our shop is open and the first 2012 shipments have left our nursery earlier this week.
We are currently waiting for export papers for all overseas shipments scheduled for April and plan to mail these out right after easter to avoid any holiday delays. Therefore, changes on pending orders scheduled for shipping in April are no longer possible.
Our first new introduction for 2012 is the spectacular and eagerly awaited Heliamphora minor var. pilosa!
The 1st clone we offer has a very dark red coloration of the pitchers, almost as dark as in H. minor "Burgundy Black".
This might well be the most spectacular introduction we made since Nepenthes edwardsiana.
Please note that unfortunately, we have just 10 plants available at this time and it might well take a while until a decent stock can be built up. So be very quick, if you're interested.
I also wish to highlight again the new introductions we released end of 2011 - see below.
Webshop problems solved: Over the last months we had several reports of shopping carts that suddenly emptied themselves during checkout. It took me quite a while to reproduce the problem and to find the rootcause. I'm highly confident that the error is fixed. However, if you still encounter problems, please let me know.
Best regards
Andreas Wistuba
New introductions for April 2012:
Heliamphora minor var. pilosa
Our most spectacular introduction since N. edwardsiana.
It has been eagerly expected by lots of Heliamphora enthusiasts and despite it small size by many is regarded as the most beautiful and spectacular of all Heliamphoras!
The hair on both, the outside and inside of the pitchers make this taxon absolutely uniqe within the genus.
We have a few young plants available which should start to produce adult leaves during the season. Due to the fact, that we only have such a small number of plants available and the demand most likely will be high, these will be sold only in combination with orders of substantial size (minimum additional order volume EUR 250,-). First come, first serve. Shipping in May.
Extremely limited supply.
EUR 150,-
Hydnophytum (?) spec. (Doormantop, Irian Jaya)
A new introduction!
This species might even represent a new genus! It's caudex is completely covered by spines. Hydnophytum "should" have a smooth caudex. In the wild, we encountered really huge plants hanging down the trees only held by a few thick roots.
Extremely unusual and offered for the first time ever.
Only a few seedlings available.
EUR 60,-
New introductions from late 2011:
Heliamphora neblinae (Cerro Avispa, Venezuela)
A new introduction.
A huge variety of Heliamphora neblinae. One of the most impressive and showy of all Heliamphoras!
Very limited supply.
EUR 60,-
Heliamphora ceracea (Cerro Neblina, Brazil)
Very beautiful.
New release.
This new species is characterized by the completely glabrous inner surface of the pitcher.
Clusters of big glands are located within the pitcher mouth along the midrib and other veins. This feature is unique within the whole genus!
The pitchers of the clone offered develop a deep red coloration when given enough light.
A stunning new release!
Very limited supply!
EUR 60,-
Nepenthes surigaoensis
First time offered commercially!
This very interesting species is related to Nepenthes merrilliana and Nepenthes bellii. Leaf attachment and overall appearance clearly separate it from N. merrilliana and it's much bigger than Nepenthes bellii.
Limited supply.
EUR 50,- each
Back in the shop and reduced prices:
Nepenthes hamata
One of our favorites got sold out in fall of 2011. Finally it's available again!
Available for EUR 40,-
Nepenthes hamata (Katopasa)
Available shortly! Reduced price. Delievery in May and June.
Available for EUR 80,-
Nepenthes x Trusmadiensis
Finally it's available again!
This spectacular hybrid was sold out for more than a year. We'll have some young plants available again by May. Reduced price.
Available for only EUR 60,-
Heliamphora minor "Burgundy-Black"
A few plants are available again! This has become one of our most popular items. Unfortunately supply could never meet the large demand.
If given good light this plant shows an extremely dark burgundy red coloration. Sometimes they appear almost black.
The plant is absolutely stunning!
Short supply!
Available for EUR 40,-
Plants with adult pitchers are also available for EUR 60,-
Special offer:
Nepenthes dubia (Mt. Talamau, Sumatra)
We have some very nice plants available again.
Very nice rosette plants EUR 30,- instead of EUR 40,-
Plants that start climbing and will soon produce their characteristic upper pitchers EUR 40,- instead of EUR 50,-

Sarraceniaceae of South America

This work is part of an exquisitely beautiful and uniquely detailed two volume monograph that provides the first complete study of the full diversity, ecology and taxonomy of all recognised species of the three genera of Sarraceniaceae (Darlingtonia, Heliamphora and Sarracenia).
Sarraceniaceae of South America examines all species ofHeliamphora from the Guiana Highlands of Venezuela, Brazil and Guyana, including five new Heliamphora species along with three incompletely diagnosed Heliamphora taxa that have not been documented previously.
Complete with up-to-date conservation assessments, distribution maps and accounts of the diversity, wild ecology and habitats of all species, this monograph is a major anddefinitive taxonomic revision of all three genera of true pitcher plants of the New World.
Visually beautiful and comprehensive, these books will appeal to both general readers and specialists who are interested in the natural history, diversity, ecology and relationships of Darlingtonia, Heliamphora and Sarracenia.
I'm confident that this will be the standard work on Heliamphora for quite some time!
